The Union government will work with Andhra Pradesh in realising its vision of becoming a nearly $2.5 trillion economy by 2047, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday as he laid the foundation stone and launched projects worth ₹2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam, including the country’s first Green Hydrogen Hub under National Green Hydrogen Mission. Modi, who was on his first visit to the Telugu state after assuming the office of the PM for the third consecutive term last June, also took out a grand roadshow in the coastal city along with chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. Both Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party, and Kalyan-led JanaSena Party are key allies of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

"Guided Tour" Of 'Sheshmahal' Soon, Says BJP Amid Row Over Renovation

New Delhi: The BJP will take reporters on a "guided tour" inside 'Sheeshmahal' - the bungalow in Delhi where Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal lived when he was chief minister - days after the party returned to power in the national capital. The Flagstaff Road bungalow in Civil Lines had courted controversy in the run-up to the February elections over its luxurious renovations with the BJP calling out Mr Kejriwal over his claim of being an 'aam aadmi' (common man). Parvesh Verma, who had defeated Mr Kejriwal in recent elections, told reporters today that he would take reporters inside the bungalow to get a glimpse of how the previous AAP government used taxpayers' money to fund the luxurious life of the chief minister. The term 'Sheeshmahal', a colloquial Hindi term for an opulent house, was coined by the BJP last year. Soon it became their most lethal weapon to level corruption charges against the AAP chief who had entered politics a decade ago with the image of an anti-corruption crusader.

Revanth attracts Rs 1.78 lakh Cr
Will BJP Come To Power after 27 Years

HYDERABAD: The TelanganaRising delegation, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, concluded its trip to the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos on Thursday by signing MoUs with several companies which have proposed to invest a combined Rs 1,78,950 crore. These massive investment commitments have the potential to create 49,550 jobs in the state.
The biggest individual proposed investments include Rs 60,000 crore from Amazon Web Services (AWS) followed by Rs 45,500 crore from Sun Petrochemicals and Rs 15,000 crore each from Tillman Global Holdings and Megha Engineering. Among the software companies with whom the state delegation signed MoUs is HCLTech which proposed to create 5,000 jobs, while Infosys said it would accommodate 10,000 employees in its upcoming new campus at Pocharam in Hyderabad and would ramp up the workforce by 7,000 more later. Another IT giant Wipro also unveiled its plans to add 5,000 jobs in the state.

Adani Group Loses Sri Lanka Power Deal

In a significant setback for Adani Group, Sri Lanka has officially revoked a power purchase agreement with the Indian conglomerate in the wake of corruption allegations, news agencies reported citing sources from the country's energy ministry on January 24. The island nation's government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has initiated investigations into the company's local projects following accusations of bribery against billionaire founder Gautam Adani in the United States late last year, reports said. In May 2024, the previous government had entered into an agreement to procure electricity at a rate of US$0.0826 per kilowatt from an Adani wind power facility that has yet to be constructed in the northwest region of the island. However, a senior official from the energy ministry disclosed that Dissanayake's cabinet opted earlier this month to terminate the agreement.

The stock price of RIL closed at Rs 1,214.75 on Friday, bringing its market capitalisation down to Rs 16,46,822.12 crore.
